CISF has provided new photo upload rules and guidelines. As part of the application process, candidates must follow specific guidelines for uploading their photographs, signatures, and documents while applying for govt jobs. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in the rejection of the application. Here are the detailed instructions and the sample CISF photo, later I’ll also share 2 ways to achieve this sample photo (free ways):

Photograph Upload Guidelines by CISF

  • Recent Photo: It must be a recent color passport-size photograph, taken within the last three months from the date of this notification.
  • Format: The photo must be in JPEG format.
  • Size: The file size should be between 20 KB and 50 KB.
  • Dimensions: The image should measure approximately 3.5 cm in width and 4.5 cm in height.
  • Appearance: The photograph should be without a cap or spectacles. Both ears must be clearly visible.
  • Date Requirement: The date the photo was taken must be clearly printed on the photograph. Photos without the date or with blurred images will be rejected.

  • A clear, recent passport-size photo showing the full face, without a cap or glasses, both ears visible. The photo should be well-lit and without shadows, with a plain background. Make sure the date taken is visible on the photo.

How to create this photo as per guidelines

We will provide two free methods to get this sample photo:

  • Use Canva – replace your photo with the demo photo in the template given below
  • Use Microsoft Office tool – MS Paint
    • Open the Photo: Right-click on the photo file and select “Open with” > “Paint”.
    • Select the Text Tool: Click on the “Text” icon (represented by an “A”) in the toolbar at the top.
    • Add Date: Click on the area of the photo where you want to add the date. A text box will appear. Type the date (e.g., “31/08/2024”).
    • Adjust Font and Size: Use the font size and style options in the toolbar to adjust the text as needed. Make sure it’s visible but not too large.
    • Change Text Color: Select a contrasting color for the date text using the color palette to ensure it’s easily readable against the photo background.
    • Move the Text: Click and drag the text box to position the date where you want it on the photo.
    • Save the Photo: Click on “File” > “Save As”, choose the file format (e.g., JPEG), and save the photo with the date added.

Signature Upload Guidelines

  • Format: The signature should be scanned and uploaded in JPEG format.
  • Size: The file size should be between 10 KB and 20 KB.
  • Dimensions: The signature image should measure approximately 4.0 cm in width and 2.0 cm in height.
  • Clarity: Make sure the signature is clear and legible. Applications with illegible signatures will be rejected.

Document Upload Guidelines

  • Required Documents: Candidates need to upload scanned copies of their Matriculation Certificate and Senior Secondary Examination Certificate.
  • Format: These documents must be uploaded in PDF format.
  • Note: Only the relevant documents regarding age and educational qualifications should be uploaded. Any other documents, or documents belonging to others, will lead to the rejection of the application.
