Which is a better option between SSC or banking?
In both cases - clerk and officer level - what's a better job prospect?
I can tell you the exact difference between the two jobs because I've friends and relatives in all the govt verticals.
Here's the truth. Both the job profiles - SSC and banking - have their challenges and rewards.
Advantages of Banking job
You get better pay scale, other benefits, and if you're ambitious opportunities for promotion is massive. Plus, when you help real people on the ground -- it gives you deep fulfillment and satisfaction.
Disadvantages of Banking job
Lot of pressure to sell. But at the end of the day, you're in PSU.
Advantages of SSC job
Comparatively less pressure, everything predictable, & you get a uniform.
Disadvantages of SSC job
No growth. You can get stuck in one position, one desk, one chair - all your life. Off late, pressure has seeped in these jobs also.
So find what gives you more satisfaction. If you prefer 'security' go for SSC (or SSSB) but if you prefer 'growth' & you're a 'people oriented person' - go for banking.
Hope it helps!
